CRISSCROSS™ - As a breast cancer survivor, Jean Criss™ creates an exciting, fashionable apparel line for health and wellness, celebrating life! Patent published - seeking investors and manufacturers!
First, Jean designed a full line of post-surgical bras and camisoles – no matter what type of breast surgery or stage of breast cancer you may experience, there should be a product for you -- ranging from radiation with lumpectomy to single or bilateral mastectomy with reconstructive surgery, products for women and men alike, providing new fabrics and technology across the product line. Jean strives to deliver stylish, comfortable products using latest technologies for patients of all ages to ease your recovery in style! Jean integrates CRISSCROSS™ in the collection with every Jean Criss™ design.
The CRISSCROSS™ name was derived after Jean's traumatic experience from the death of her late first husband, Al Criss, who passed away after a tragic auto accident, while she was in her twenties. This line will be created to serve in dedication of his memory. Net proceeds will go towards product development of the brand.
"Bra's will named after survivors - dedicated to friends and dear loved ones. Annina Vulpetti, my dear Aunt who died tragically of Stage 4 BC who meant so much to me and my family, and to Christina Bloom - we spent many wonderful days together traveling and socializing during our recoveries - while we wrote our books to give back to charities", states Jean.
Secondly, Jean will feature fashionwear for patients and medical staff -- healthcare medical garments designed for those who need special apparel during their hospital stay, in-home care, or while at work. Jean Criss™ brought out the fashionista with CRISSCROSS™ including fashionable scrubs and gowns to brighten your day -- providing comfort and style at your bedside. Basically, apparel for patients in need and for your caregivers. Products currently 'under construction.'
Why? The Facts: A woman has a 1 in 8 chance that she will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime; in New Jersey that chance is 1 in 7. 1% of all breast cancer diagnoses are men, 1 in 1,000 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Every 2 minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer; every 13 minutes, a woman in the United States will die of this disease. Inspiring celebrity women such as Kris Carr, Sheryl Crow, Christina Applegate, Guiliana Rancic, Cynthia Nixon, Hoda Kotb, Betsey Johnson, Edie Falco, Olivia Newton-John, Diahann Carroll; and famous men such as director George Lucas, Cleveland Brown’s Ernie Green, actor Richard Roundtree, singer Don Mclean, former US Senator Edward Brook, and unfortunately so many more, have experienced breast cancer.
Testimonial - "These bras look so soft and comfortable and easy to put on. I love all the ways they can be adjusted for a comfortable fit and the holes for the lovely drains we go home with from the hospital ... Love the easy front closure. You thought of everything! Wish I had a bra like this when I had my mastectomy. I don’t even remember what I had. I think I wore nothing with loose fitting button-front shirts. These designs are light years ahead of what was offered 15 years ago. Thanks for doing this. You’re an angel." Libby Levinson, Colleague & Breast Cancer Survivor

Breast cancer survivor inspires readers
Author Jean Criss announces the release of her new book ‘My Pain Woke Me Up- Bliss’
NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J. – In her new inspirational story “My Pain Woke Me Up – Bliss: A Survivor's Tale of Love, Life, Breast Cancer & the Pursuit of Happiness” (published by AuthorHouse), author Jean Criss shares her journey in an effort to help readers build confidence and make smart decisions about breast health.
“My Pain Woke Me Up – Bliss” is the first of a three-book series and a fictionalized account of Criss’ personal story. Criss describes the pain she endured throughout her breast cancer journey before, during and after numerous and, what she calls, unnecessary surgeries, and the onset of complications which followed. Criss details her life as she becomes a young widow, experiences true love, remarries, then finds the joys of parenting and being a working mother. Readers will also experience Criss’ hardships: a fallen marriage, divorce and depression. To persevere and survive these ordeals, Criss focused on the positive – her children, family, career and the pursuit of happiness – and found true bliss in the days ahead.
An excerpt from “My Pain Woke Me Up – Bliss”:
One may look at my story and laugh at how I’ve attempted to handle the Big C, D, DD, and E—and I’m not talking bra-cup sizes here. Cancer, depression, designated driver, enabler … I’ve often wondered, what was the cause for my breast cancer? I may never know for sure. Despite test after test, even our most well-educated and well-informed physicians don’t have all the answers. What I do know is that life is too precious. Who knows what the future holds? I’ve decided to live according to a phrase that my first husband would often say to me: “Stop and smell the roses.”
This was long overdue… As I discovered in my new-founded sisterhood of survivors, sharing stories and learning to laugh it off is good medicine.
Criss hopes to bring awareness to an aspect of breast cancer that many people may not be familiar with, but she also believes readers will find her story inspirational. “It is an emotional, deep book in thought, with images to support my experience and journey,” she says. “It is very resourceful and can also be used as a guide for breast cancer patients and their families who are going through this experience and for non-breast cancer patients as well.”
